The proposed project involves upgrades to the multipurpose athletic field at Valley Oaks Center for Enriched Studies, a magnet school serving 6th through 12th grade students in the Sun Valley neighborhood.
Ganddini Group prepared a traffic and pedestrian safety study in support of the project’s CEQA review, tiered under LAUSD’s District-wide School Upgrade Program Subsequent Program EIR (certified December 2023), evaluating site access and circulation, construction phasing, vehicular and pedestrian facilities, and consistency with the program EIR’s established significance thresholds.
The study found the project would have no impact or a less-than-significant impact on pedestrian safety and transportation and circulation with implementation of LAUSD’s Standard Conditions.
The Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the project was adopted by the LAUSD Board of Education in March 2026.
