The study evaluates the existing Chaparral Middle School site at 1405 Spruce Tree Drive to assess the need for adult crossing guards at four crosswalks surrounding the school, prepared for the Walnut Valley Unified School District.
Ganddini Group conducted a crossing guard warrant study following California MUTCD guidelines, evaluating pedestrian crossing volumes, vehicular traffic volumes, and speed surveys at each of the four study crosswalks.
The study found that two crosswalks met both the minimum pedestrian and vehicular warrant criteria, supporting a recommendation for adult crossing guards, while the remaining two crosswalks met pedestrian volume criteria alone and could be justified but were not deemed critical.
