
Tom Huang, PE
Tom Huang has been involved in a wide range of public and private sector projects throughout his 24+ years in the transportation planning and traffic engineering field. He is registered Professional Engineer (Traffic) in the State of California. His experience in these fields includes preparation of traffic impact studies, circulation and access planning, parking demand analysis and management, and traffic control evaluation. Tom is an expert in traffic forecasting methods and various software programs for capacity and operational analysis, such as HCS+, Traffix, Synchro/SimTraffic, and Vistro, and has years of experience managing and training younger engineers in these programs and methodologies.
Early in his career, Tom worked at notable consulting firms that were central to establishing traffic engineering practice in Southern California. His later work experience at a traffic engineering design firm included preparation of traffic signal plans, signing and striping plans, traffic control plans, and serving as the contract traffic engineer for the City of Pomona. Tom obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from California State Polytechnic University Pomona where he was a member of the National Civil Engineering Honor Society.
